52 Weeks: Week Eight

How could I not be happy at least part of the time this past week? It was my birthday and I didn't have to bake my own cake or pick out/buy my own gift. The cake was delicious and therefore had to be eaten as fast as possible.

In honor of my birthday, I splurged on getting my hair colored as well as a very long over due cut. I love the cut so far, but the color didn't come out quite as intended. It's going to get fixed (hopefully) next week, but I can definitely live with it. (and all my grays are covered up too!)

I also managed to finished the hat I was working on in time to give it to my hair stylist. She loves it. Somehow having people love the things you make for them makes it even more satisfying to create things. (D agreed to model the hat for me.)

The "warm" weather has continued here and therefore we get moments like this. C.S. loves being outside and will allow herself to be mauled by her sister so I can have pictures of them together. It probably helps that she doesn't walk yet and so if I sit her down on a pile of snow, she has to stay there.

52 Weeks: Week Seven

I feel a little bit like like I fell down a rabbit hole. I'm just trying to get by and every time I lift up my head to see what's going on around me, I feel like I'm a little more behind and a little more alone. I need to get myself sorted out and write a proper post. Maybe in time to mark my birthday this week?

I'm totally cheating but this counts as 2 things, warm weather (it was +9°C) and a trip to the park with D.G. and the girls in the middle of February.

Big sister's old (and ignored) toys that become C.S.'s neew favorite and allow her to get a head start on her art career without me having to worry about my walls, floors or clothes.

Hand dipped (by a 5 year old) chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's Day. (I give big props to anyone who can get the white chocolate squiggles to look good. Luckily I only had to impress the 5 year old.)

52 Weeks: Week Six

Still sick, mostly just coughing at night now but the lack of sleep is holding me back. I have lots of things I want to do that I know would make me happy to get done, but trying to get caught up on housework and laundry takes priority. I could have given you a pin.terest board of all the projects I want to do, but instead you will have to suffer through the few pictures I have taken in the last couple days.

New hat on the in the works. It's for my hair stylist who is going to give me some fabulous hair
in time for my birthday in a couple weeks. I really like how it's turning out so far.

D and C.S. playing in the curtains. It makes me so happy to see them playing together and laughing at the same things. (After Reid died, I was so afraid D would never get to experience playing with a sibling.)

Warm weather in February makes any Prairie girl happy. Anything above freezing is warm to us
and we have had a solid week of warm weather.
(If you are snowed in on the East Coast, I hope the snow melts soon.)

C.S.'s first ukelele lesson. So many things about her make me happy. I have been trying to appreciate her even more this last week after reading about Jennie and her Matilda Mae.

Week Five: not happening

Still a big sick mess here. I'm barely keeping up with the laundry and meals so taking pictures is not going to happen. Happiness last week (and now) came from cold medication, tea and my girls.
